A vertical machining center (VMC) cuts with a spindle that points straight down at the table. It is the workhorse of most machine shops: milling, drilling, tapping and boring parts held in a vise, a fixture or on a rotary table.
Compare used VMCs on four things first. Travels (X, Y, Z): will your biggest part and its fixture fit? Spindle taper and speed: CAT40 or BT40 for general work, CAT50 for heavier cutting. Tool changer capacity: how many tools stay loaded between jobs. Control: it decides which programs, post-processors and support you can use.
Every machine below lists its travels, spindle, taper, tool capacity and what is included with it, with photos. Use Request a quote on any machine page for price and availability.

CAT (American) and BT (Japanese) holders look similar but use different flanges and pull studs, so they are not interchangeable. Check which holders you already own before you choose a machine.
Most listings note All Available Manuals in the Included with machine list. Check the specific machine page, and ask us if you need a particular manual.
Watch it run, check spindle noise and runout, axis backlash, tool changer operation and the condition of the control. Our used CNC inspection checklist covers each step.
