Sell

Sell your used CNC machines and shop equipment.

Have surplus machinery to sell? Let Advantage Products sell it for you. We buy and sell late-model used CNC equipment and manual machinery, and we take CNC, manual and fabrication equipment.

Three ways to sell

The right route depends on how fast you need the machine gone, what you need out of it, and how much room you want to free up. Tell us what you have and we'll go through the options with you.

1. Sell it to us

Advantage Products buys late-model used CNC machines and manual machinery. If we buy a machine outright there is no commission, because we are the buyer.

2. Let us sell it for you

If you would rather hold out for a market price, we can list and sell the machine on your behalf.

3. Auction it

Our auction service can sell a single machine, your excess equipment, or an entire facility. It can be a fast way to clear a shop floor.

What to send us

A short list is enough to start. The more of this you can include, the faster we can tell you what makes sense:

  • Make, model and year of each machine, and the serial number if you have it
  • Location: city and state, and whether the machine is still under power
  • Control type and any options (probing, rotary table, through-spindle coolant, chip conveyor)
  • Condition: what runs, what doesn't, recent repairs, spindle hours if you know them
  • Photos of the machine and the control, and a nameplate photo
  • Manuals and tooling that go with it

Before you hand over a machine

  • Back up the control. Save parameters, offsets and macros for the buyer, and tell us what you are including.
  • Remove your customers' programs. A control's memory can hold part programs and drawings. Delete anything you are not free to pass on.
  • Know what is attached. List rotary tables, probes, chillers and conveyors so nothing leaves by accident.
  • Plan the move. Heavy machines need riggers. See our guide to rigging and shipping.

FAQ

Selling to Advantage Products

What kinds of equipment do you buy?

Late-model used CNC equipment and manual machinery. If you are looking to sell CNC, manual or fabrication equipment, contact us. Examples we currently list include machining centers, turning centers, grinders, saws, shears, cranes and tooling.

Do you charge a commission if you buy my machine?

No. When we buy a machine outright we are the buyer, so there is no commission. For machines sold at auction, a percentage of the final selling price applies. See auction services.

How do I find out what my machine is worth?

Send us the make, model, year, control and condition. Price depends on those details, the market for that model, and the options on the machine. See also our guide to what used CNC machines are asking.

Do you only buy machines in Minnesota?

Tell us where the equipment is and we will tell you what is practical. Our address is Corcoran, MN; see used CNC machines in Minnesota.
